Once a kid hits four or five, their room stops being a room you decorated and starts being their headquarters. The good news: this is when wall art does the most work. The right pieces become daily prompts for imagination.
Build an imagination wall
Three pieces above the bed, all of your kid in different imagined roles. Superhero on one side, Be Anything (astronaut, chef, ballerina, whatever this month's obsession is) in the middle, Grow Up on the other side. The wall reads as one big story about who they're becoming.
Sibling rooms
Shared rooms work best when both kids are represented equally. A Together print over the door, both of them in the same scene, solves the 'whose side is this?' problem before it starts. Then each kid gets their own piece above their own bed.
Hanging tips
- Hang at the kid's eye level, not yours, they need to see themselves
- Group in odd numbers (1, 3, 5) for visual balance
- Leave breathing room, kids' rooms get cluttered enough on their own
